2009-2010 Exchange Student

Meet Monique Deparis. She is a 17 year from Paranas, Brazil. She arrived on August 24th and is living with Tim and Shannon Datig. Monique is an honor student and an accomplished athlete. She is attending classes and playing basketball at Egg Harbor Township High School.
Her father is a banker and her mother is an art teacher. She has one older sister. She says that reading a good book, going out with friends and practicing basketball are her favorite activities. She has played basketball for 7 years and was on a state championship team. She likes pets, especially dogs. Monique thinks that she would like to be an architect. The main things that she wants to learn from her exchange are to learn the language, culture and the way Americans live. She wants to visit some interesting places and know their history as well as make friends and talk to different kinds of people.  Monique has also played the flute for 7 years. Her English skills are good. She is scheduled to graduate from high school in Brazil in December 2009.
